Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is a tourist attraction in the form of a temple which is located in a corals “island”. This temple is believed by the Hindus as the joints guards of the island of gods which is one of the Sad Kahyangan temples (other Sad Kahyangan temples are Besakih temple, Uluwatu temple and some others). This temple is the sea temple the worship place of the guardian deities of the sea

The attraction of Tanah Lot temple is that, at the time of high tides, the temple is surrounded by water, so that it is seemed genuinely in the middle of the sea but when the sea water is receding, the temple can be reached by walking through the rocks across the sea where the water is receding. Another attraction is that there are fresh water sources and the sacred snake of the temple guards.

Tanah Lot is located in Tabanan district, 20 km from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali province
